Today as we
commemorate the Feast Day of St. Aloysius Gonzaga: Patron of young students,
Christian youth, Jesuit novices, the blind, AIDS patients. Who at the very
young age of 9 decided on a religious life. Though a kidney disease prevented
him to do his social life for a while, he spent his time on prayer and reading the lives of the saints. When his
family moved back to Italy, He taught catechism to the poor.
When he was 18, he
joined the Jesuit, after finally breaking down his father, who had refused his entrance to the order. He
serve in a hospital during the plague of 1578 in Milan, and died at the age of
23.
Rev. Fr. Aloysius 'Jing' Buensalida H. |
Likewise this is a
very special day for us faithful of St. Vincent Ferrer here in Tuy, Batangas.
Our very own Parish Priest is
celebrating his birthday.
He who is very
zealous in his work and to his flock...
He, who is willing to
exert his talents and very efforts for the improvement of the Church
entrusted to him...
He, who is ready to
care for those who seeks help and guidance;
He, who by his
humility and dedication encourages many to participate in the Parish activities
and work; And like St.
Aloysius, he who is willing to help and continually inspire many through their
meekness and confidence in God.
Thus, to our beloved,
joyous and wonderful Kura, we greet you all:
Now I leave you some
moments to pray for our priest:
O Jesus, our great
High Priest, Hear my humble prayers on behalf of your priest, Fr. Jing
Buensalida. Give him a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love
which will ever increase in the course of his priestly life.
In his loneliness,
comfort him In his sorrows, strengthen him In his frustrations, point out to
him that it is through suffering that the soul is purified, and show him that
he is needed by the Church, he is needed by souls, he is needed for the work of
redemption.
O loving Mother Mary,
Mother of Priests, take to your heart your son who is close to you because of
his priestly ordination, and because of the power which he has received to
carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs him so much.
Be his comfort, be
his joy, be his strength, and especially help him to live and to defend the
ideals of consecrated celibacy.
Amen.
